What is discussed in geography courses?
Geography is a bridge between social science, environmental and natural sciences. Geographers bring their input when spatially defined phenomena have to be discussed (eg environmental issues, climate effects, landscape interventions, treated socio-economic developments in the city and region as well as problems of developing countries). These are problems that have spatial effects on a specific location and require a need for action within sustainable development strategies. The current training is thus characterized by natural and social science content, and promotes a joined-up thinking, which is focused on cause and effect relationships in human-environment system, and impact assessment of human intervention (human impact assessment).
